When used with Windows devices, the product is designed for straightforward plug-and-play functionality. For Mac users, the drive will need to be formatted to the ExFat format before initial use.
For gaming devices, the first-time setup may require additional steps. On XBOX, users can simply follow the on-screen prompts to install the external hard drive. On PlayStation, users may encounter a message stating the file system is unsupported, but they can navigate to the "USB Storage Device" option in the settings menu and follow the system's instructions to format and install the drive.
It's important to note that there are certain restrictions imposed by gaming device manufacturers regarding the use of external hard drives. PS5 consoles can directly read and run PS4 games from an external drive, but PS5 games need to be transferred to the internal storage to be played. Similarly, XBOX X Series and XBOX S Series consoles can only run XBOX One games directly from an external drive.
